I am so done with writing papers. If I never have to write a paper again, it would be too soon! This one seems to be particularly excruciating. So, I have Griffin in his room for his "nap time", which is really an hour or so of "destroy his room time". This is what happened when I tried to get some work done on my paper yesterday....
Frightening, I know. And that's after I put the all the diapers back in the drawer and the drawer back in the dresser. And put all the clothes back in the laundry basket. The frame on the wall used to have 3 pictures with pretty magnets on it. That kid is baby GODZILLA!
So, part of Griffin's routine is turning his radio on really loud. For a while, he was partial to classic rock, but through some button pushing he has ended up on the oldies station. Now, I don't usually listen to the oldies station because I find the DJs extremely irritating, and I hate listening to commercials every two minutes. But, because it's not worth the battle to change the station (or turn it down) I've been listening to it too. Since when do '80's songs count as oldies? So far, I've heard Blondie, NXS, Journey, Cindi Lauper, and a handful of other similarly awesome eighties artists. There is no way I'm old enough to have my music played on the oldies station. If I hear Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, or New Kids on the Block, I am so writing a letter.
After I write my paper.

I can't believe he did that to his room! He is one active boy!!
I feel your paper pain! I was so done with papers by the end of my MEd. You've become such an excellent and eloquent writer! I bet your teachers love reading your papers!
The Tasmanian Devil! I'm having second thoughts about renting this place to such tenants :-)
Wait until they play the music of your youth in elevators and on hold...arrgh!
Oh I love that boy! And luckily for him, he has the right mother, nothing shocks you or really throws you. And finding the humor, a gift that will keep you sane. Griffin's ultimate job is to remind you that life is extremely different now that your a parent.
I enjoy his love of music, along with his adventurous side. His grandfather will be proud that, maybe not proud of his choice of music though, they can debat that in years to come.
He is truly a child that stories can't explain, he must be experienced. And then it makes sense when Sean is introduced.
Love reading your blog, makes me appreciate what I survived and now can look back with sweet memories and strenght that I survived the insanity of it all.
Hang in there, you are going Great! And give yourself extra credit, Griffin is uniquely...Griffin...hehe
Sorry my input got long, there is so much to respond to...did you find the cute magnets?
love you Griffin!
HAHAHAHA! I'm in for some extreme trouble with the twosome ahead of me. I really shouldn't be laughing.
Since, the oldies station plays those songs, then I guess that confirms we are old. And you my friend are getting close to celebrating another. Maybe I'll call the radio station and request Madonna's "Like a Prayer" just for you.
